Sweet peppers (also known as bell pepper) produce fruits in different colors, have one of the highest vitamin C contents among all fruits and vegetables, making them rich in antioxidants and a great anti-cancer food. Can be grown all year round in Taiwan, with the peak production season from October to May of the following year.

 

The common problems of flower and fruit drop in sweet peppers, should be paid attention to the following points:

  1. The proper temperature for sweet peppers to set the fruits is 20-25°C. Temperatures below 15°C or above 32°C will make fruit set difficult.
  2. Pay attention to fertilization management by avoid excessive use of nitrogen (N) fertilizer. Increase the application of phosphorus (P) and potassium (K) fertilizers during the flowering stage and increase the potassium (K) fertilizer when the plants enter the young fruit stage.
  3. Ensure proper irrigation management: To prevent fruit drop caused by too wet or too dry soil condition.
  4. Ensure plants have sufficient sunlight.
  5. Flower yellowing (or flower drop) caused by diseases: the common diseases, such as "bacterial spot disease," are more likely to occur in high temperature and high humidity environments.
